Organise a Young People’s Tomorrow dialogue

What does the future look like for young people right now? What causes concern and what gives hope? What kind of society should Finland be in order to be equitable and ecologically sustainable for everyone? What changes cannot wait, but must happen tomorrow?

The spring’s national dialogue days are Thursday 23rd of April and Tuesday 19th of May. You can also organise dialogues on any other day as long as it is held before the end of May.

Many young people living in Finland are losing faith in the future. The future is overshadowed by climate change, wars, poor employment prospects, mental health challenges, and growing inequality. Even in uncertain times, youth is characterized by the ability to see things in a new way and the desire to change the world. These resources should be fully utilized in order to build a sustainable society.

Securing the future of young people is a shared responsibility for all, and work must begin immediately. National Dialogues invite people of all ages and backgrounds living in Finland to discuss the tomorrow of young people.

How to get involved?

Participation is easy and does not require a major input from the discussion organiser. The most important thing is the desire to join.

  1. Link the theme to a target group or topic that is important to you, for example: “Young People’s Tomorrow in Vantaa / Lapland / our village / our school”
  2. Register as a discussion organiser  by the 9th of March via this form.

A summary of the discussions will be drawn up and published for open use. It will also be submitted for use in public administration and decision-making.

The aim is to achieve a large number of dialogues organised by different actors in different parts of Finland, where people living in Finland can engage in diverse discussions, hear each other’s views, delimit boundaries between different views, understand something new, share observations and build mutual trust together.

The discussion can be held for 1,5 or 2 or 3 hours, either face-to-face or remotely.
